Zip Zap Zop

5/28/17

Today, we were movers and shakers, on land and in sky. Still in a wake of awe from yesterday's adventures, we packed our bags and depart Girdwood for the town of Seward. The hour and a half route through national park seemed to be only a enchanting minute, as the world around us seemed to grow more wild and all the more beautiful by the moment. On the way, we happen upon Cristal Lake and at first glance, prepared to pull over. The perfectly clear blue water lapped the shore, as if being lost from the Caribbean, found its way here at our feet.
Once arrived in Seward, we check into our roomy new home and Mara and I gear up for a tour of the forest by zip line. It's a bit rainy, but all the more thrilling because of it. For two hours, we are free as the birds that fly so weightless beside us.
Seward is a small, picturesque sea town right on Resurrection Bay. Hundreds of boats sway gently in the docks and gulls swoop and perch on each one of them. We have fresh fried and delicious halibut from one of the local restaurants and leave full and happy to turn in for the night.
