Gravity's Just A Word

5/25/17

This time yesterday, it was all hustle and fever. Last minute packing, making our ways to the airport and waving goodbyes. That day long plane ride was made brief in our minds with the anticipation of arrival and gorgeous glimpses of snowy mountains thousands of feet below. It was like another new world down there, ready to be touched. Ten hours after leaving Tennessee in the midday, we arrive in sunny Anchorage Alaska just at local dinner time. The drive to our cabin in Girwood is a thing of beauty. The road is separated from the North Pacific by a just a few feet of land and beyond the shore, the most stoic mountains I've ever layed eyes on. They seem as fathers of the land, with so much wisdom and patience gained in their many years. The road from Anchorage is like the waves and sways us back and forth on our way. Our cabin stands illuminated already in the soft, evening light and is just nice to be in as to look at.

Here, the air smells like honey and feels like peace. Alaska is wild.
