Blue Healer

7/30/2017

The morning was cool and fresh. It was one of those days that hints to you the coming of the next season, and reminds you of the passage of time. The air felt light compared to the heat and humidity of the days recently, and it was not unwelcome.
The Blue Hole is not a far drive and is situated amongst the tall and gentle trees of Appalachia. It's a thing of dreams as the mountain water crashes down the rocks and gathers in a pool, endlessly translucent, relentlessly cold. I submerge timidly, then all at once into the cold shock of water. The sensation quickly reminds me that I am indeed alive.
I lean back into the water and float below the canopy of green leaves and golden sunlight. This place seems to me to be a place for quiet contemplation of all that is good. The sun rises and the sun sets, love exists, and there are places in this world such as these. May I never live a day ungrateful.
